V-Day 'special': Elon Musk loves Twitter and Twitter loves him back - Times of India

NEW DELHI: Pardon the mother of clichés but today is the day when love is "commercially" in the air. In this digital age, love often blossoms on Twitter but how often does Twitter 'reciprocate'? Well, it looks like it has in this special case.
If after Donald Trump, there's someone whose Twitter activity gets the biggest headlines, then it is Tesla CEO Elon Musk. The tech billionaire enjoys a massive fan following – he has 24.7 million followers – and his tweets fall in informative, funny and borderline absurd categories. It comes as no surprise then that Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey thinks that Musk is one of the most exciting influencers on Twitter. In an interview conducted on Twitter (where else) Dorsey was asked "Ok, then WHO is the most exciting influential on Twitter right now? BE SPECIFIC #KaraJack"
Dorsey replied, "To me personally? I like how @elonmusk uses Twitter. He's focused on solving existential problems and sharing his thinking openly. I respect that a lot, and all the ups and downs that come with it #karajack". In reply to Dorsey's tweet, Musk promptly tweeted, "Thanks Jack, Twitter rocks!" followed by a host different sorts of emojis.
Dorsey has a point about Musk sharing his thinking openly. So much so that a tweet by Musk led to him being sued by US Securities and Exchange Commission in 2018. Musk had tweeted that he was thinking about taking Tesla private which led to him being sued. The lawsuit was later settled between the two parties but Musk had to quit as chairman of the company's board. Musk also had to pay a fine of close to $20 million.
Meanwhile, Dorsey as part of the interview was asked several other questions and candidly admitted that Twitter along with other Silicon Valley giants haven't done enough to combat online abuse.
