Tonight’s record-breaking $160 million Powerball has gone off with three division one winners — including one in WA.

The three will each bank more than $50 million dollars.

Checkouts across Perth ran hot this week as the clock ticked down to tonight’s record-breaking $160 million Powerball draw.

Demand for entries reached “unprecedented volume”, with some 1.4 million entries sold across the State.

“We experienced an unprecedented volume of sales yesterday and this morning,” Lotterywest spokeswoman Hermione Coleman said.

Lotterywest estimated that 1100 tickets were sold every minute between 4pm and 5pm this evening.

Half of all West Aussie were expected to have a ticket at the time of tonight’s draw.

Lotterywest chief executive Ralph Addis said he was thrilled that another West Australian has won a share in the Powerball jackpot.

“This is welcome news for Lotterywest players and an incredible result,” he said.

“2022 has been a fantastic year for Lotto in WA – tonight’s win makes 64 division one WA winners this year who have celebrated with over $214 million in prizes.”

More than 855,000 WA winners took home a Powerball prize across the other divisions, including 24 division two wins each worth more than $77,000.

The huge $160 million jackpot was the highest ever in the history of any Australian Lotto game.

The previous record was $150 million claimed in 2019 by three eastern states winners. Each took home $50 million.

The jackpot soared after no one picked up the winning numbers on October 20 to take home the division one prize.

Tonight’s lucky numbers were 2, 4, 7, 10, 12, 18, 34, and the Powerball number was 7.

The next chance for players to win big is Saturday’s $20 million Superdraw.
