The latest case on the Gold Coast comes less than a week after an unvaccinated Uber driver, 34-year-old Duran Raman, sparked an urgent alert after he was infectious in the community for 10 days, with police probing how he entered Queensland and travelled to the Gold Coast from interstate hotspots.
New exposure sites have been listed, including a FoodWorks in Bundaberg and the Caboolture South travel centre truck stop area men’s toilet on Saturday, and Graham Lusty Trailers at Crestmead on Thursday.
The first-dose pace has picked up in Queensland since the Palaszczuk government launched its roadmap to reopening and regional “vax-a-thon” push, but remains at almost the lowest rate since September.
Ms Palaszczuk said her ministers last week travelled 27,500 kilometres - almost the distance to New York and back - to urge people to get vaccinated in regional centres.

She said improvements identified included longer opening hours for clinics.
In Queensland, 75.22 per cent of people aged 16 have received one dose of a COVID vaccine, and 60.70 per cent have received both doses.
From this weekend, vaccines will be available at surf lifesaving clubs, while pop-up clinics will open at Dreamworld, Sea World, Australia Zoo, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and Aussie World.
