Sydney couple Robbie Awad and Marina Hanna were celebrating their marriage on Queensland's Hamilton Island on June 20, when the buggy they were travelling in rolled. The 29-year-old newlywed died at the scene.
Awad – also known as Robbie Morgan – is facing charges of driving without due care and attention causing death, failure to wear approved seatbelt by driver, failure to wear approved seatbelt by passenger, and using a mobile phone.
Awad did not appear in person. His lawyer told the court there were "logistical issues" because he lives in Sydney.
The case has been adjourned until February 2023.
