Man charged over bed and breakfast double murder in Brisbane - NEWS.com.au

A man has been arrested and charged with murder after the bodies of a man and woman were found at a bed and breakfast in Brisbane yesterday.

The two bodies were discovered by a family member at a property in Joyner, near Strathpine, north of the city, just before 2pm.

NSW Police Homicide Squad detectives charged a 31-year-old man with two counts of murder after he was stopped on the M1 at Berowra, north of Sydney, about 6.30pm yesterday.

The arrest, 900km from where the bodies were found, came about after a Queensland arrest warrant was issued.

Officers from Hornsby Highway Patrol stopped a Toyota Rav4 and the driver was taken to Hornsby Police Station without incident.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court today.

Queensland Police detectives are expected to travel to NSW where they will apply for the man’s extradition.

Police set up a crime scene as forensic officers combed the property for evidence.

Detectives have not revealed the circumstances of the deaths.
