A driver has been killed and two passengers are fighting for life after a car crashed into a tree in Melbourne's west.
Emergency services were called to reports of the accident on Ballarat Road about 1.05pm.
The driver, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
Both passengers were rushed to hospital with critical injuries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing, police said.
Police have asked anyone travelling westbound on Ballarat Road to avoid the area.
