There are an array of new coronavirus restrictions for South Australia that begin on Tuesday, as authorities scramble to contain a growing COVID-19 outbreak.
The restrictions will last for the next two weeks.
On top of the new rules, the Government has offered South Australians new advice on how to keep themselves, their loved ones and their community safe.
Here's what you need to know.
Pubs, clubs and restaurants
- Hospitality venues, including pubs, clubs and restaurants will only be able to accept a maximum of 100 customers.
- But some venues will not be able to have that many people because there will also be a maximum one person per four square metres.
- There will be a maximum booking of 10 people in a group.
- No-one will be able to stand up with an alcoholic drink, indoors or outdoors.
- Licensed venues will be limited to hosting private functions capped at 50 people.
Aged care services
- Wearing masks will be mandatory where physical distancing isn't possible.
- The number of visitors will be restricted to two per day.
Government advice
The Government has issued advice for South Australians, which is not legally binding:
- People who are particularly vulnerable to the coronavirus, such as older people, are advised against having visitors.
- Everyone is advised to wear a mask where physical distancing is not possible, such as on public transport.
- South Australians are discouraged from all unnecessary travel.
Inbound international flights
- All inbound international flights into Adelaide have been suspended.
Home gatherings
- Gatherings at private residences will be limited to 10 people per residence.
Fitness and sport
- Community sports fixtures and training are temporarily cancelled.
- That applies to both indoor and outdoor sports, and to both contact and non-contact sport.
- All gyms, recreation centres, trampoline centres and play cafes will be prohibited from operating.
- Boot camps and other outdoor fitness activities can continue.
Events
- All events scheduled for the next two weeks that previously had approved COVID management plans are cancelled.
Funerals
- Funerals will be limited to 50 people.
- There will be a maximum of one person per four square metres.
Weddings
- No change to the maximum numbers of guests at weddings.
- But all guests will have to be registered with the CDCB, the Communicable Disease Control Branch of SA Health
Places of worship
- Churches will be limited to a maximum of 100 worshippers.
Hairdressing and personal care
- Mask wearing will be mandatory for staff at personal care services including hairdressers, tattooists and nail parlours
- Customers will be "encouraged" to wear masks.
Cinemas and entertainment venues
- Cinemas, theatres and other entertainment venues will be limited to one moviegoer per four square metres.
