A man is unaccounted for after a residential property in Sydney caught alight.
Police are attempting to locate a missing man while other residents have been evacuated from the building.
The fire broke out on the third floor of the apartment complex, causing part of the building and roof to collapse, according to Fire and Rescue New South Wales.
"We don't know [if everyone got out], we just hope no one is in there [because] they are all our neighbours we know them," one local said.
As many as 30 firefighters are on scene at the blaze on Abercrombie Street in Darlington.
Fire crews are fighting the blaze from outside the building as fire damage has blocked off entry to the apartment.
Crews are still working to contain the blaze.
"We haven't been able to conduct a complete search so we can't say we've got an all-clear at the moment," Fire and Rescue NSW told 9News.
Roads near Redfern station have been closed including Abercrombie Street, Ivy Street, Lawson Street and Gibbons Street.
The fire will not impact any train lines or rail operations at nearby Redfern Station.
