A man has died following a shooting in Sydney's south-west on Monday morning.
Emergency services found the man with multiple gunshot wounds when they were called to Simmat Avenue, a residential street, in Condell Park before 7.30am.
Despite the best efforts of four ambulance crews, the man died at the scene.
Police sources say the incident has ties to the notorious Brothers for Life gang.
Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command have established a crime scene and are investigating with the state's homicide squad.
Family and friends of the man were at a nearby park on Monday morning and could be seen embracing.
Simmat Avenue and Curtin Place are closed in both directions and police have asked the community to avoid the area.
Buses in the area have been delayed by up to 15 minutes, due to traffic diversions. Services are instead travelling via Townsend Street and Lancelot Street, missing two stops.
Police have asked anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
More to come.
