Victoria records no new coronavirus cases and no deaths for 18th straight day - ABC News

Victoria has recorded an 18th consecutive day without any new coronavirus cases or deaths, the Department of Health and Human Services says.

Three cases are still classed as active.

The department said 17,412 test results had been received in the past day.

Officers from the department are meeting every flight from Adelaide into Melbourne Airport, following the coronavirus outbreak in South Australia.

South Australian Premier Steven Marshall today reported the state had detected one new case of coronavirus, bringing the number of confirmed and suspected infections associated with a cluster in Adelaide's northern suburbs to 20.

Victorian officials are taking the details of people arriving from South Australia, asking them where they have been and carrying out temperature and symptom checking.

People travelling from coronavirus hotspots in Adelaide are required to be tested or be treated as a close contact and asked to self-isolate for 14 days.

Deputy Chief Health Officer Allen Cheng yesterday urged anyone who had been in South Australia in the past 14 days to check the exposure sites listed on the SA Health website and take any necessary action such as quarantining.

Professor Cheng said anyone with symptoms, no matter how mild, should get tested and self-isolate until they receive their result.

More to come.
