NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has been photographed not wearing a mask outside a Sydney cafe – as shown in pictures printed on the front page of today’s Daily Telegraph newspaper.
The photographs showed Ms Berejiklian and partner Arthur Moses outside a cafe where the pair grabbed coffee.
The Daily Telegraph reports that Ms Berejiklian was standing less than 8m from the cafe without a mask.
Under her Government’s own lockdown rules, Sydney residents are asked to wear masks “near” cafes.
The newspaper noted it did not claim “the Premier broke the order”.
A spokesman for Ms Berejiklian said the Premier had not breached any health orders.

The Premier’s spokesman took exception to her being photographed during “private time”.
“To follow the Premier around in the area where she lives to obtain photos of her with a friend during their private time is one thing which, whilst uncomfortable for the Premier, is regrettably accepted as part of holding public office,” a spokesman said.
“However, it is wrong and unfair to suggest or imply that she has broken a health order based on photos taken at different angles when she clearly has not. Further, the Premier is always mindful of her obligations under the health orders and always seeks to maintain an appropriate social distance outdoors.”
“We’re all in this together, trying to do our best … to keep each other safe, and should not be creating distractions based on wrong facts.”
Case numbers remain high as NSW battles outbreak
NSW recorded 105 new locally acquired cases of Covid-19 and one death on Sunday.
Of the locally acquired cases, 66 were linked to a known case or cluster – 55 are household contacts and 11 are close contacts – while the source of infection for a whopping 39 cases remains under investigation.
Worryingly, Premier Gladys Berejiklian revealed 27 of the new cases were active in the community while infectious.
There were 69 cases in isolation throughout their infectious period and seven cases in isolation for part of their infectious period.
The numbers come as Greater Sydney and NSW experiences the toughest restrictions of the entire pandemic.
“We know these are difficult times but we also know that when we come together we can achieve what we need to achieve,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“We are throwing everything at this. We want to come out of this lockdown as soon as possible. We want to make sure that we allow families and businesses in particular to bounce back as soon as we can and that is why we are throwing everything at it in the next two weeks.”
Of the 105 cases reported, 76 were from southwest Sydney, 12 were from western Sydney, nine were from southeast Sydney, five were from inner Sydney, two were from Nepean Blue Mountains and one was from Northern Sydney LHD.
