South Australia recorded two new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, all linked to the Modbury cluster, as the Premier remains confident lockdown will end on Tuesday night. See the latest.
Premier Steven Marshall has announced two new Covid-19 cases on Sunday linked to the Modbury cluster, both of whom have been in quarantine.
The number of cases linked to the cluster is now at 18.
Mr Marshall thanked those people for observing their quarantine measures so diligently, ensuring that their cases posed no risk to the South Australian public.
“Because of their observance and diligence, we are still on track to lift the lockdown order on Tuesday,” he said.
“Tomorrow is D-Day, we don’t want to see any further numbers, especially any numbers out in the community.
“On Wednesday, we want to get people back to school, get people back to work.”
Sunday’s two new cases were a woman in her 40s and a man in his 70s.
The woman’s child, who was at the Greek on Halifax restaurant, tested positive last week.
The man’s case is linked to the Tenefeate winery cluster, which is now at 10.
A third case listed on Sunday was an overseas arrival and had also been in quarantine.
There were 23,719 tests were conducted yesterday a new record – while the median wait time for a test was about an hour.

Mr Marshall said the figures once again showed that the state did the “right thing” by moving quickly into a lockdown last week.
He said the transition committee would meet later today and on Monday to map South Australia’s way out of the lockdown.
“We want to give people enough warning,” he said.
“We’re looking at a range of scenarios, but our primary focus is to get as many people back to work as safely as possible.”
Mr Marshall noted the importance of getting the hospitality and construction industries up and running again, but ruled out significantly increasing indoor capacity levels in the short-term.
“The last thing we need in South Australia is to have a situation where we have to go back into a lockdown ... so we don’t want to lift those restrictions too quickly,” Mr Marshall said.
“We are very concerned about the situation in NSW.”
With 141 new local cases recorded in NSW on Sunday, Mr Marshall said: “I can’t see us going back to three per four square metres in the short term.
“I think that is now some way off with the situation over in NSW.”
Chief public health officer Nicola Spurrier said staff had looked back at CCTV from Tenefeate Creek Wines to evaluate the risk to other people.
“It’s become apparent to our team that the Barrel Room … was a highly infectious place to be during the time that the case was there, as it is very small, there wasn’t much ventilation and it was very crowded,” she said.
“On the basis of that, we’ve made contact with about 40 people who were doing home quarantine … and those people will be transferred to our medi-hotels as well.”
She said SA Health was looking at a “home quarantine package” to give more medical support to some of those in home quarantine.
“When you’re in a hotel quarantine you get a daily call from our nursing staff to check on your symptoms … we are looking at how we can do that for some of the people in home quarantine,” she said.
She said staff were still collating the vaccination history of the 18 cases in the Modbury cluster, but it appeared that none had had more than one vaccine dose.
On Saturday, the state recorded just one Covid-19 case, taking the total cluster to 16 cases.
Meantime, Prime Minister Scott Morrison has secured an extra 85 million Pfizer doses for delivery next year, and some for 2023.
