A Brisbane man faces murder charges after a woman was found dead at his house, almost 15 years exactly since another tragedy occurred there.
A man has been charged with murder after his “on again, off again” girlfriend was found allegedly fatally stabbed at his Brisbane home on Monday night.
Alex O’Sachy was charged on Tuesday night with one count of murder as a domestic violence offence after the death of the 45-year-old woman at the Upper Mt Gravatt property.
She has since been identified as Angela Silk.
Police will allege that Silk was fatally wounded at Mr O’Sachy’s Wishart Road home just before 8pm on Monday.
Silk’s death comes after 15 years almost to the day that teenager Leanne Thompson was found dead at the same property on September 7, 2006.
A coronial inquest found it was “likely” Miss Thompson had taken her own life.
The two events are not linked but both occurred at Mr O’Sachy’s house.
Mr O’Sachy, 43, was interviewed by police on Tuesday in relation to Silk’s death.
He was charged with murder late on Tuesday night and will appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
This is the fourth death he has been linked to. He has never been charged with murder and coronial investigations have ruled that he was not responsible in relation to those previous deaths.
He went voluntarily with police to be interviewed after making the call to paramedics about 7.30pm on Monday.
Despite the best efforts of first responders, Silk died about 50 minutes later.
Police said earlier on Tuesday they were treating the death as unexplained and suspicious.
Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming said Silk had been living at the property, which he said was known to police and where there had been “some history”.
Police responded to reports of a verbal argument at the home in May.
“It’s my understanding the man currently assisting police with their investigation was not accused of any wrongdoing in that matter,” he told reporters on Tuesday.
“What, however, if any, relevance that incident has or that event has on this lady’s death will be examined as part of the investigation.”
