Shorten condemns 'gutless' violent Melbourne protesters

In more recent news from this morning, however, federal Labor frontbencher Bill Shorten has condemned the violent protests in Melbourne yesterday, describing those who clashed with police as lawless louts. 

Mr Shorten told Channel Nine he believes the crowd was made up of fake tradies, neo-Nazis, anti-vaxxers, and opportunists looking for trouble.  

"I felt sick, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It's gutless to attack police doing their job, it's gutless to carry on like this when doctors and nurses are working so hard."
