Queensland health authorities are scrambling to find those who attended a Southeast Queensland high-risk exposure site around the same time as an infected truckie.
Queensland’s health authorities are concerned about people they have not been able to contact who visited a nail salon after a Covid-infected truckie.
CCTV footage is being used to find those who attended the Stylish Nails salon and Beenleigh Marketplace Shopping Centre on Monday last week but did not log in using the Covid check-in app.
Chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young said authorities had only been able to track down seven people who visited the salon.
Dr Young said CCTV had captured six people going into the salon prior to the infected truck driver attending and another four after.
However, she said the footage was not conclusive as it did not provide complete coverage of the salon’s entrance.
Dr Young said only seven people who were at the salon had been spoken to by health authorities, but she was concerned by the number who had not been found.
“I need them to come forward, it’s quite a large nail salon,” she said.
Authorities are also concerned by the number of people who visited Beenleigh Marketplace Shopping Centre and did not use the check-in app.
So far, 74 people have contacted Queensland Health via the online portal.
On Saturday, Dr Young said she would consider another lockdown if people who went to the marketplace had since then been infectious in the community in an “uncontrolled situation”.
