COVID-19 case numbers from around the states and territories - ABC News

Here's a quick wrap of each Australian jurisdiction's latest COVID-19 statistics for Sunday, August 14.

New South Wales

The state has recorded nine more COVID-19 deaths. 

There are 2,148 cases in hospital, with 58 of those in intensive care. 

There were 6,979 new cases announced.

Victoria

There have been another 24 COVID-19 deaths.

There are 575 cases in hospital, with 29 of those in intensive care and six of them are requiring ventilation.

There were 3,450 new cases.

Tasmania

Tasmania has recorded one more COVID-19 death and 375 new cases.

The state has 63 cases in hospital. Two of those are in intensive care.

Northern Territory

The NT has recorded 111 new COVID-19 cases but no new deaths.

There are 26 cases in hospital in the territory, one of those patients is in ICU.

Queensland

The state has recorded 1,944 new cases. There are 468 people in hospital with COVID-19, including 27 in intensive care. 

Queensland does not report death numbers on weekends. 

Australian Capital Territory

The Australian Capital Territory has recorded 310 new COVID-19 cases.

There are 139 cases in hospital, with three of those are in ICU, two of whom are being ventilated. 

No deaths were recorded today.

Western Australia

There were 1,559 new COVID-19 cases reported in Western Australia.

There are 298 cases in hospital, with eight of those patients in ICU. 

South Australia

There were 1,000 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in South Australia today.

There are  274 cases in hospital, 11 of whom are in ICU.
