Player ratings: Which Geelong flop scored zero? - Herald Sun

It was an annihilation. Geelong’s most experienced players failed to show up. Their most prolific didn’t deliver. One in particular was abysmal. PLAYER RATINGS.

Melbourne captain Max Gawn says his side “haven’t done anything” until they have broken the Demons’ 57-year premiership drought.

The Demons are into their first grand final since 2000 after a dominating win over Geelong in the preliminary final against Geelong at Optus Stadium.

Gawn said they were thrilled to win the prelim, three years after they were smashed by West Coast at the same venue, but they weren’t resting.

“We want to be able to win the grand final, that is what the target is,” he said on Channel 7 post game.

“This is really nice but we haven’t done anything until we have broken the drought.”

The Demons have spent the last two weeks in quarantine and Gawn said they “just wanted to come out and play”.

The captain himself kicked five in an incredible performance, four coming in the third quarter.

“I’m not normally a goalkicker and got onto a couple,” he said.

“I’m never going to be able to do that stoppage goal again in my life.”

Our experts reckon Gawn was as close to perfect as they come. What do you rate him?
