Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a man found with multiple wounds in South Melbourne.

A passer-by found the male, who is yet to be identified, outside a Dorcas Street building about 9.30pm on Friday night. Paramedics arrived and tried to revive him, but he died at the scene.
Police are treating the death as suspicious.
