SA has confirmed a man who travelled to Adelaide from Melbourne has tested positive for COVID-19 but the case has been added to Victoria’s case total because he was diagnosed there.
The new case was recorded in a 35-year-old man who came to SA from Pakistan via Melbourne. The man is an Australian resident.
Chief Public Health officer, Professor Nicola Spurrier said the man was re-tested in SA but diagnosed in Victoria.
He arrived in Adelaide on Jetstar flight JQ780.
He is in quarantine in a hotel in SA.
Prof Spurrier said he had already carried out quarantine in Victoria, was no longer infectious but was re-tested on arrival in SA - and COVID-19 was confirmed.
Professor Spurrier announced the new case on Wednesday after a fortnight of no active cases.
She said SA authorities would discuss whether the case would be transferred to SA’s case tally because the man was now a resident here.
