Multiple fires have been lit at the Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre, west of Brisbane, yesterday where prisoners are currently in stage 4 coronavirus lockdown.
Emergency services responded to reports a fire had been lit on a mattress inside a cell and treated a number of inmates at midday.
Five crews were then called back to a second fire at the correctional centre at 9:15pm, burning in rubbish outside a building at the centre.
The second fire took crews three hours to contain.
It is understood no-one was injured.
Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre is one of five South East Queensland prisons in stage 4 coronavirus restrictions.
