A man has been charged with the murder of a teenager near Mudgee, in the NSW Central Tablelands, more than two decades ago.

A 53-year-old man was arrested last night over the suspected murder of Michelle Bright, whose body was found near Gulgong in 1999.
The arrest came just two days after NSW Police doubled the reward for information leading to the her death to $1 million.
The then 17-year-old was found in the long grass on the side of Barneys Reef Road, three days after she was dropped off by a friend after a birthday party.
A 2009 coronial inquest recommended that the NSW Government raise the $100,000 reward to $500,000 — the highest at the time.
On Monday, police issued another plea for information along with another reward increase.
Detectives had urged anyone who had information about a red XF Ford Falcon station wagon in the Gulgong area at the time to come forward.
Loraine Bright, Michelle's mother, appealed to the public for help in solving her daughter's murder earlier this week.
She described her daughter as "wonderful" and a "good sister" to her brothers.
"We have lived with this for 21 years and all I ask is that somebody, if they know something, to please come forward and give us the answers we need," Loraine Bright said on Monday.
Following an extensive investigation, detectives arrested the 53-year-old man near Mudgee.
He was charged with murder, two counts of inflicting bodily harm with intent to have sexual intercourse with the victim and strangulation.
He will face Mudgee Local Court today.
