Mud Army 2.0 details
You might've seen a post earlier about the return of the Mud Army to help Brisbane cleanup in the wake of its floods.
Well, Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner has given some more details about when it'll all kick off.
“We’ll have a trial run tomorrow (Thursday), but then we’ll gear up full scale from Friday,” he said.
“Sunday happens to be Clean Up Australia Day, so a perfect weekend to be out.”
Mr Schrinner said volunteers would be told to meet at points at RNA Showgrounds at Bowen Hills, Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens and QEII stadium at Nathan before being bussed to different locations around the city.
The council will provide gloves, face masks and bottled water but volunteers need hats, gumboots, a raincoat and lunch and any shovels or brooms.
If you haven't signed up yet, but want to, you can register with the council here.
The kerbside clean-up has started too in many parts of the city.
