The offenders also allegedly threw fireworks inside the venue, before they fled the scene, police said.
The group were last seen travelling in a dark-coloured ute heading north on Wellington Street.
No one was inside the venue at the time.
Police are treating the fire as suspicious and an arson chemist is expected to attend the scene later today.
Police are investigating whether the fire is linked.
