Amber alert issued for children missing from Darling Point - NEWS.com.au

NSW Police are seeking urgent public assistance to help find two children who were allegedly taken from their home in Sydney’s east on Thursday morning.

Shortly before 2.30am, Bowie and Basten Dowlut, aged 4 and 10, were at a home on Carthona Ave, Darling Point.

Despite strong protestations from the children’s mother, their father, Dennis Dowlut, packed the family into a SUV saying they were travelling to Melbourne, NSW police allege.

About 3am, the mother was forced out of the car at Alexandria and notified police.

Dennis is described as being of Mauritian background with an olive complexion. He is about 180cm tall, of slim build, and balding. He was last seen wearing black pants, a white T-shirt, khaki puffer jacket and a red beanie.

Bowie is described as having an olive complexion, long brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing white pyjamas with pink unicorns.

Basten, 10, is described as having an olive complexion, short brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing white pyjama pants, a white T-shirt, and a black puffer jacket.

They were in a white 2014 SsangYong Actyon SUV, with NSW number plates DLF-43A.

NSW Police said there were “extreme concerns” for the safety of the children.

“Police are asking the public to be on alert, (do) not approach but report any sightings of this man, or vehicle to triple-0,” NSW Police said in a statement.
