Too soon to make decision on the end of Victoria's lockdown
Victoria's health authorities say it is still too soon to say if the state's fourth COVID-19 lockdown will end on Friday, as first announced.
The Health Department said tens of thousands of Victorians are now being tested or vaccinated daily despite problems with a system overload.
It comes as the state yesterday announced five new locally acquired cases, bringing the total number of infections linked to the latest outbreak to 35.
Authorities say the state has 3,000 primary and close contacts with 62 per-cent returning a negative test, and more results pending.
But Health Minister Martin Foley said there are still too many uncertainties until all tracing and testing is done.
"Four or five is clearly better than 20 and 30 a day, but we can't rule out what we can't rule out until we get all these tests done," he said.
