A man has been shot after he charged at police outside a KFC in south east Melbourne.
Police attended the KFC on Lauderdale Road, Narre Warren at about 2.45pm on Monday afternoon after they were called to a disturbance.
Police said officers shot an 'agitated' man after he charged at officers with an 'edged weapon'.

'Officers were confronted with an agitated man wielding an edged weapon who charged at them,' a Victoria Police statement read.
'A police firearm was discharged and the man was struck to the lower body.'
The man was shot in the lower body in an attempt to apprehend the man.
Belinda, a caller to radio station 3AW, said she saw the police officers in the carpark of the fast-food restaurant, across the road from the Narre Warren police station.

'It was a bit of a shock - as I was driving past, there were a couple of police members in the car park,' she said.
'There was a guy there - they were spraying him and he was still coming at them.'
The man was taken to hospital non-life threatening injuries.
Victoria Police said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
