Five injured in separate stabbings across Sydney’s west - NEWS.com.au

Five people have been injured in a spate of separate stabbings across Sydney’s west overnight.

Police officers were called to incidents in Northmead, Doonside, Cabramatta and two in Whalan in less than three hours, with the youngest alleged victim being just 15.

Only one person has so far been charged – an 18-year-old arrested after the Doonside incident – as investigations continue into four of the stabbings.

The first occurred in a home on Hammers Road, Northmead, with police called to the scene about 11.15pm.

A 19-year-old man was found with wounds to his abdomen and was taken to Westmead Hospital.

A crime scene was established and investigations are ongoing.

At Whalan, emergency services were called to Waikanda Crescent about 12.45am after reports a man had been injured.

They found a 25-year-old man suffering multiple stab wounds to his torso.

Police were told the man was involved in an altercation with a number of people following a party at a nearby home.

A broken glass bottle was seized for forensic examination.

The man was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

Police were called to a separate stabbing in nearby Moreby Crescent just after 2am,

Officers found a 20-year-old man with a stab wound to his forearm.

Police have been told the man was reportedly stabbed during an altercation nearby before returning home.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to Westmead Hospital to undergo surgery. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Detectives are yet to determine if the two Whalan incidents were linked.

At 1.15am, Doonside police received reports a teenager had been injured at the intersection of Kildare Road and Myall Street.

Emergency services found a 15-year-old boy with stab wounds to his arm and abdomen. He was treated at the scene and taken to Westmead children’s hospital in a stable condition.

Police were told the boy had allegedly been involved in an argument with a man known to him, who pulled out a knife.

A knife was recovered in a nearby drain and an 18-year-old was arrested.

He was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Sunday.

In Cabramatta, a man suffering multiple stab wounds to his arm walked into the police station about 2.40am.

Police were told the 49-year-old man was injured during a home invasion at a unit on John Street.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

Police have urged anyone with information about the incidents to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
