Police have charged a man with murder over the death of a 78-year-old woman in Melbourne's south-east.
Police found the woman's body inside her Drinan Road home in Chelsea on Sunday morning.
Homicide squad detectives interviewed a 53-year-old Chelsea man on Monday and he was later charged.
"The parties are believed to be known to each other," Victoria Police said in a statement.
"The death is being treated as suspicious and the investigation remains ongoing."
