Residents and tourists in Western Australia's north are on high alert as they prepare for the arrival of Cyclone Lincoln.
The storm is likely to hit as a category 1 or 2 on Saturday evening around Coral Bay and Carnarvon, which is expected to bring with it winds of up to 120km/h and rainfall between 50 to 100mm.
A blue alert has been issued for Carnarvon, while a yellow alert was issued today for several areas including the north west cape, Coral Bay and Giralia (including Exmouth).
Residents in these areas have been told to get ready to shelter, bring their cars undercover and bring their pets inside.
A number of shops have shut in Carnarvon and some plan on remaining closed over the weekend.
Several roads have also closed ahead of the predicted flooding.
The North West Coastal Highway will be shut from tomorrow.
