Returned traveller who escaped Perth hotel quarantine posted bizarre videos online - Daily Mail

Watch the bizarre videos posted online by a conspiracy theorist who broke out of hotel quarantine in Perth just days after flying in from Covid-ravaged Europe

  • Australian traveller hands herself in after escaping hotel quarantine in Perth
  • Jenny D'Ubios, 49, refused to be tested for Covid and claims it doesn't exist
  • She spent seven days in hotel quarantine before escaping for 12 hours
  • D'Ubios had flown in from Spain, which has had 1.8 million cases of Covid-19

An Australian traveller who claims to have studied metaphysics in Byron Bay allegedly broke out of mandatory hotel quarantine because she thought they were poisoning her with antihistamines.

Jenny Maree D'Ubios, 49, refused to be tested for Covid and bizarrely claimed that it didn't exist before allegedly fleeing the Pan Pacific Hotel one week into her mandatory detention.

She has ranted at length about needing to 'overthrow the system', coronavirus being a 'hoax' and even insinuated that Covid is instead the result of the rollout of 5G technology.

And on Saturday, Ms D'Ubios allegedly escaped her mandatory hotel quarantine for 12 hours, before handing herself in at Rockingham Hospital hoping for a 'safe space to quarantine'.

'I need a non toxic safe place to quarantine,' she said. 'That's all I am asking for so they don't pump me with antihistamines or allergy drugs to cope with the toxic environment.'

When police learned of her whereabouts, she was charged with breaching the Emergency Management Act, ABC reported.

The Australian citizen is understood to have been living in Spain, which has had 1.8 million cases and suffered nearly 50,000 deaths, for several years before returning home to Perth during the pandemic.

The Health Department came under fire for not notifying the public of her alleged escape until some nine hours after they learned of it.

Questions have also been raised about why she wasn't detained in a 'high risk' hotel which is monitored by police, particularly after she refused to take a Covid test.

Returning travellers are subject to two Covid tests upon arriving in Australia - one on day two and another before leaving quarantine on day 14.

Ms D'Ubios had already refused to take the day two test, and hadn't made any concessions about taking a make-up test.

In a series of videos shared to Ms D'Ubios' Facebook page while in quarantine, she claimed coronavirus was fake.

She claims to be an alchemist and a 'world healer' who studied metaphysics in Byron Bay, which is also colloquially dubbed the 'anti-vaxx' capital of Australia.

'I'm done having to suffer because people won't stand up for their rights... People need to stand up for their rights,' she said in a rant posted on Facebook on Saturday.

'I'm suffering because everyone in this world is lazy and fearful. This week has been so horrific for me. I get very bad allergies. I'm in this room with air conditioning, carpet, curtains.'

Ms D'Ubios was furious that she was offered antihistamines to treat her allergies, arguing: 'My body is the most powerful healing tool, not some chemical made by a pharmaceutical company... I'm a f**king warrior man, nobody can stop me.'

'I am going back to ER the heart beat keeps going to high from the antihistamine they are pumping in me, so I can't stay in their toxic hotel room!!!! 2nd time in ED in two days,' she explained on Facebook.

She also slammed authorities for keeping her in isolation and not allowing her to use her own swabs for Covid testing.

Two hours prior to allegedly fleeing quarantine, she shared a video which said: 'If they don't remove me from this hotel room today I am going to walk out of here.'

In the same video, she asked someone to be 'brave enough to do a drive by and pick me up' after she escaped.

Ms D'Ubios said if police tried to fine them for 'rescuing' her, it would 'never stand up in court anyway'.

'How hard is it to stand up for ourselves?'

There will be an investigation into how Ms D'Ubios was able to allegedly leave quarantine.

Security is the responsibility of the Health Department, but only one of the dedicated hotel quarantine facilities use police to guard travellers.

Police remain stationed at a dedicated high-risk facility, while security guards are employed to staff other hotels.

But police can be called if there are non-compliance issues.

Her alleged escape came as six new coronavirus cases emerged in hotel quarantine in WA on Saturday.

Four women and two men tested positive with all cases related to overseas travel, WA's Department of Health said.

That brought the number of active cases in the state to 13.

The total number of COVID-19 infections recorded in Western Australia is 854, with 832 people having recovered.

WHAT IS THE 5G NETWORK AND WHY ARE PEOPLE CONCERNED?

Globally, telco's are beginning to transition from the standard 4G network onto a faster, superior 5G server.

Conspiracy theorists have linked the new technology to the coronavirus since it first spread from China in late 2019.

It will allow devices to be tuned into the network, from 'smart homes', to 'smart refrigerators' and even 'smart cars'.

According to the International Appeal to Stop 5G On Earth and in Space, the technology will detrimentally increase exposure to radio frequency radiation and could have harmful impacts on humans, the planet and animals.

'RF radiation has been proven harmful for humans and the environment. The deployment of 5G constitutes an experiment on humanity and the environment that is defined as a crime under international law,' the appeal reads.

So far, more than 234,000 people have signed to ban 5G towers from being erected.

Byron Bay council became the first in Australia to halt plans to build a 5G tower in town as a result of community backlash.

A moratorium to the construction remains in place.
