Two men who allegedly robbed and bashed a man in Adelaide, leaving the victim unconscious, were later arrested at a nearby fast food restaurant.
Just after 3.30am on Boxing Day morning, police were called to Hindley St in the CBD after a man was found lying in Produce Lane.
The 53-year-old from the Fleurieu Peninsula was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Security vision reviewed by officers showed he had been approached by two men, before one punched his face.
He fell to the ground and hit his head, the vision showed.
Investigations led police to arrest the pair – a 36-year-old from Bordertown and a 32-year-old from Christie Downs – at a nearby restaurant.
Both were charged with aggravated robbery and refused police bail.
They are expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court by video-link on Monday.
