Victorian Government announces $143.1 million support package targeted at businesses most affected by the recent five-day "circuit-breaker" lockdown
Trade Minister Martin Pakula said over 50,000 businesses, including sole traders, will be supported by the package.
Restaurants, florists, musicians, artists, wedding celebrants, the events sector and accommodation providers will be among the industries receiving support.
"They are the businesses that were most profoundly affected by that lockdown and they are the businesses that we are primarily targeting in this support," he said.
About $92 million will go to the Business Costs Assistance Program, and will provide payments of $2,000 for eligible businesses, including sole traders.
Licensed hospitality venues that have previously been recipients of the Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund program will receive an automatic $3,000 payment, Mr Pakula said.
A program that provided support to Victorian accommodation businesses that had cancellations is also getting re-booted.
Under the Victorian Accommodation Support Program, accommodation providers with less than 10 cancellations will get $2,250, and more than 10 cancellations will get $4,500.
The popular accommodation voucher program will also be expanded, with 40,000 Metro Melbourne travel vouchers getting launched, as well as an extra 10,000 regional vouchers.
