Police have broadened their search of beaches on the NSW south coast in their investigation into the case of missing Sydney businesswoman Melissa Caddick.

It follows the discovery of two bones on Tura Beach, south of Mollymook, on Saturday by a member of the public.

The bones will undergo a forensic examination to determine whether they are animal or human.

Ms Caddick, 49, was the subject of an investigation by the Australian Securities and Investment Commission. She has not been seen since she left her Dover Heights home to go for a run in November last year.

PFAS ban begins

The NSW government has banned the use of firefighting foam containing PFAS from today.

The foam has been used extensively at defence bases, airports and emergency services facilities in the past, but from today it can only be used in catastrophic or special circumstances.

Organisations will no longer be allowed to use the foam for training, and from September next year it will also be banned from sale in NSW.

NSW environment minister Matt Kean said the firefighting foam was a key cause of PFAS contamination across the state, especially around defence bases and airports.

Vaccine report card for NSW

Premier Gladys Berejiklian was today expected to give a community update outlining how many people had received the COVID-19 Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine in New South Wales.

Today's briefing will be the first in a series of weekly updates, where the Premier will give the previous week's vaccination numbers.

Ms Berejiklian said that she was keen to get vaccine supply information from the federal government as soon as possible.

"We're really keen to get on with the job and I want to assure the community that New South Wales has all its processes in place, and we're confident that we'll reach our target of the vaccine rollout.

"I'm sure the federal government will reach their target as well."

Yesterday, 300,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in the country, and the rollout will ramp up to an expected four million doses by the end of March.

Community leaders are calling for the Australian government to provide asylum to temporary visa holders from Myanmar as violence continues in the South-East Asian nation.

There are fears that people who have taken part in anti-military rallies in Australia will be "hunted down and interrogated".

In Sydney, local leader Sophia Sarkis said that the military coup had put returning citizens in grave danger.

"The military government is already tracking activities that are happening overseas.

"They already have a list of names and I heard that I'm actually one of them, on the blacklist," Mrs Sarkis told the ABC.

The search for missing man Christopher Deep in the Royal National Park is set to enter its third day.

Police have serious concerns for his welfare after a search on the weekend failed to find any traces of the 36-year-old.

Mr Deep was last seen at Loftus Railway Station with his bike on February 13.

He was wearing a grey shirt, dark shorts, grey sneakers and a blue bike helmet.

Police believe he went for a ride in nearby bushland.

Anyone who has seen him, or has information about his whereabouts, is urged to call police.
