Sydneysiders are being urged to work from home this week if they can.
Transport NSW sent out a message on Sunday evening saying: “With the current weather conditions affecting roads and public transport across Greater Sydney, we are urging customers to avoid unnecessary travel particularly in flood affected areas.
“A number of bus services operated by Busways in the Western and North Western Sydney areas particularly the Hawkesbury, Penrith and Blacktown area will not operate tomorrow (Monday) due to the impacts from flooding.
“If possible customers should work from home and motorists who need to drive should exercise extreme caution and never drive through flooded waters.”

The advice from Transport NSW comes after residents within western parts of Penrith were told to evacuate on Sunday afternoon.
The evacuation was for all properties within the area bounded by the Nepean River, south of the Great Western Highway and west of Peach Tree Creek, including: Captains Road; Fitch Avenue; Ladbury Avenue; Memorial Avenue; Nepean Avenue; and Recreation Avenue.
Residents were told once floodwater reached 7.96m the Great Western Highway evacuation route would be cut and they could be trapped.
Rain will continue to fall in Sydney tomorrow (Monday) with western Sydney facing a one in 50 year weather event.
