National Cabinet to meet today. NSW's outbreak, vaccines and home quarantine on the agenda

If it feels like the last National Cabinet meeting was just yesterday, well, you’re not far off.
National Cabinet will get together (virtually) at 1:00pm this afternoon for the third time in two weeks.
The Sydney outbreak and the vaccine rollout will both be discussed, but there are a few specifics on the agenda too.
An idea to extend mandatory vaccination from aged care workers to those in the disability sector will be raised.
It has already been endorsed by the NDIS Minister, Linda Reynolds.
The proposed pilot of a home quarantine scheme for fully vaccinated travellers will also be discussed, but no actual decisions or details are expected.
There are still a few details to iron out on the reduced international arrivals caps (like which airlines can take how many passengers on which routes), so those should be finalised.
And vaccination strategies for fly-in, fly-out workers and aviation workers will also be discussed.
It comes after a fly-in fly-out worker, who picked up COVID-19 in hotel quarantine in Queensland, sparked an outbreak at a remote goldmine in the NT which then spread to four states.
In all, we may not see the major headlines that have come from recent National Cabinet meetings out of this one. It is possible the Prime Minister might not hold a press conference afterwards.
One last tidbit – today’s meeting was originally scheduled to be held in-person in Darwin, but that’s obviously not possible.
Shame, it’s a great time of year in the NT.
