Four more schools in NSW have been closed due to links to coronavirus.
Fort St High School in Petersham, in Sydney‘s inner west, will be closed today due to a possible case of COVID-19.
The school is being thoroughly cleaned, and test results are due today.
Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary in Bossley Park and Freeman Catholic College in Bonnyrigg Heights, both in the city‘s west, will also be closed until August 10 after cases were confirmed.
Everlearn Preschool in Prestons, in Sydney‘s southwest, will be closed for cleaning and contact tracing after a confirmed case, local MP Melanie Gibbons said on Facebook.
“I am advised that the preschool will be closed so that NSW Health can conduct contact tracing and the preschool can be deep cleaned,” Ms Gibbons said.
NSW Health’s Dr Jeremy McAnulty stressed that anyone with even the mildest of symptoms should come forward for testing.
“We are concerned, we would like to make sure people are taking this really, really seriously,” Dr McNaulty said.
“Particularly in Potts Point, come forward for testing, there are plenty of testing sites available.”

NSW recorded 19 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday.
Health authorities warned the coming weeks will be “critical” in avoiding a Victorian-style second wave of coronavirus infections.
People in Sydney are being urged to maintain good social distancing and hand hygiene practises, and to “consider the use of masks when you can’t keep your distance”, chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant said.
“This is an anxious time. I think this is a critical time where we need the community to modify their behaviours, engage with public health messaging and come forward for testing.”
On masks, they’re recommended when people use public transport, Dr Chant said.
“We ask you to keep gatherings as small as possible,” she added. “Don’t travel for non-essential reasons.
“This is a critical time over the next three to four weeks. We need to all play our part.”
