South Australia has recorded another new coronavirus case — a female paramedic who travelled to Victoria to help with COVID-19 swabbing operations in high-density housing in Melbourne.
Key points:
- A paramedic has coronavirus after testing people for the disease in Melbourne
- SA is considering reimposing stricter border controls with Queensland
- Another nightclub has been fined for breaching COVID-19 restrictions
The woman, in her 20s, has one close contact, a member of the same travelling party, who is also now in quarantine.
Other members of the travelling party have all been tested for coronavirus, with most returning negative results, but some are still outstanding.
They returned from Melbourne on a flight on Wednesday.
The case is the second in two days for travellers returning from Victoria to South Australia.
Premier Steven Marshall said he remained "extraordinarily concerned" by the wave of cases in Victoria.
He said he spoke to the paramedic and thanked her for her important work.

South Australian Ambulance Service chief executive David Place said it was the first case of coronavirus in a South Australian paramedic.
"Other than being very humbled by calls from the Premier and the Minister, she is in good spirits and she mentioned it's not all bad spending time in a five-star hotel so she does have a smile on her face," Mr Place said.
Chief Public Health Officer Nicola Spurrier said the woman was tested at Adelaide Airport when she arrived back in the state.
She said SA Health "assumed" the paramedic became infected while working despite no known breaches in personal protective equipment.
"It is part of the risk of this sort of work," Professor Spurrier said.
SA currently has three active coronavirus cases and has recorded 450 in total since the start of the pandemic.
Stricter Queensland borders considered
SA's COVID-19 Transition Committee met this morning and discussed the rising number of coronavirus cases on the east coast.
Police Commissioner Grant Stevens said no decision had been made to reimpose border restrictions with Queensland, but travellers should factor border changes into their plans.
"My advice to people who are thinking about travelling would be to cancel any unnecessary travel.
"You don't want to be caught somewhere and have to quarantine when you come back."
A Malaysia Airlines flight from New Delhi with 170 people on board will arrive in Adelaide tomorrow, with passengers immediately going into hotel quarantine.
Another nightclub fined
Meanwhile, the Red Square nightclub on Hindley Street in Adelaide's CBD has been fined more than $5,000 for breaching coronavirus restrictions.
Police said they received a complaint about the venue and subsequently reviewed footage which showed patrons drinking and dancing, which was prohibited under current directions.
The matter has also been referred to the Liquor and Gambling Commissioner.
Police fined North Terrace's Fat Controller nightclub yesterday for the same offence.
Another nightclub and a hostel received similar fines earlier this month.
