Man taken to hospital after stabbing on Sydney's northern beaches - Sydney Morning Herald

A man has been taken to hospital after he was stabbed in the abdomen during an altercation at Collaroy in Sydney's northern beaches on Saturday.

Police were called to a home on Eastbank Avenue at about 2.50pm after reports of a stabbing.

In a statement, a NSW Police spokesperson said officers were told there was "an altercation between two men and a woman, before one of the men was stabbed in the abdomen and the second fled the scene".

The injured man, who is in his 30s, was taken by helicopter to Royal North Shore Hospital.

Vision from the scene showed several ambulances and police cars arriving at the scene. The man was then wheeled out on a stretcher by paramedics, sitting up as he grimaced and clutched his right side.

The woman was not injured in the altercation.

"Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation," the police spokesperson said.

"A search of the surrounding area is currently being conducted with assistance from the Dog Unit."
