Current rules on gatherings in NSW
Has there been any indication when restrictions on home gatherings will be lifted? Prior to Avalon the home cap was 50 now 30. It seems the naw government is attempting to force all larger gatherings to be held in packed restaurants.-Homebody
We can't tell you if or when the rules will change, Homebody, but here's how they stand now:
Up to 30 visitors from any number of households may visit another household on any day. The total number of visitors includes adults and children. (A member of the hosting household is not counted as a visitor.)
No more than 50 people can gather outside in a public place which includes public parks, reserves, beaches, public gardens and spaces.
A maximum of 300 people may attend a wedding or a funeral subject to the square metres rule applicable at the venue.
Indoor hospitality venues are generally restricted to one person per 2 square metres. For small venues, up to 25 people are allowed before the one person per 2 square metres rule applies.
All Gyms in NSW must continue to apply the 4 square metres rule.
