Victoria recorded zero new locally acquired Covid-19 cases on Tuesday.
The state’s health department confirmed no new local cases about 9am, along with two new infections in hotel quarantine.
The number of active cases in Victoria is 51, down from 54 on Monday.
The results came from 13,176 tests, while 15,339 vaccine doses were administered in the past 24 hours.
Four Covid-19 positive patients remain in hospital in Victoria.
It comes as Acting Premier James Merlino revealed Victorians were set to be boosted by another significant easing of Covid-19 restrictions ahead of the winter school holidays.
Mr Merlino said he expected to be able to announce a “whole range” of easing of restrictions for both regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne this week.
Mr Merlino said on Monday the easing of restrictions was “being assessed right now”.
“I do have confidence and an expectation that later in the week we’ll be announcing a whole range of easing of restrictions for regional Victorians and Melburnians,” he said.
“As Professor Sutton always says, everything is on the table in terms of assessment, and it will be public health advice in terms of what can be eased further in a CovidSafe way.”
Victorians will also again be able to travel internationally without quarantining after New Zealand officials announced the travel bubble would resume.
The New Zealand Ministry of Health announced late on Monday night the pause of quarantine-free travel from Victoria to New Zealand would be lifted at 11.59pm on Tuesday.
