NSW records no locally acquired COVID-19 cases as new exposure sites on south coast revealed - ABC News

NSW has recorded no new locally acquired COVID-19 cases despite the south coast being on alert after health authorities added more venues to the state's list of exposure sites.

NSW Health released information about the extra venues last night after a Melbourne family visited the region while potentially infectious.

The father initially tested positive, however all four members of the family have since been confirmed as having COVID-19.

That has prompted health authorities to expand the period the family was in the region while possibly infectious, taking it to between May 19 and May 24.

Anyone who visited the following venues should get tested and isolate until receiving further information from NSW Health:

  • The Coffee Pedaler, Gundagai, between 9:30am and 11:15am on May 19
  • Green Patch campground, Booderee National Park, Jervis Bay, all day May 23 until 9:00am May 24, and between 4:00pm on May 19 and 9:00am on May 24
  • 5 Little Pigs, Huskisson, between 8:00am and 11:30am on May 21
  • Huskisson Treasure Chest, Huskisson, between 11:30am and 12:00pm on May 21
  • Cooked Goose Cafe (formerly Hyams Beach Cafe), Hyams Beach, between 10:00am and 12:00pm on May 23
  • Coles Vincentia Shopping Village, Vincentia, between 12:00pm and 1:00pm on May 21, between 12:00pm and 1:00pm on May 22, and between 12:00pm and 1:00pm on May 23
  • Shell Coles Express Big Merino, Goulburn, between 10:00am and 11:30am on May 24 and between 1:45pm and 2:05pm on May 19
  • Trapper's Bakery, Goulburn, between 10:30am and 11:30 on May 24
  • Gundagai Craft Centre, Gundagai, between 11:00am and 12:00pm on May 19
  • Junque and Disorderly Antique Site, Gundagai, between 11:00am and 12:00pm on May 19

NSW Health said the movements of the family continue to be investigated and the list of venues could be updated.

The man, who reported the onset of symptoms on May 25, drove back to Melbourne on May 24 and got tested on May 31. Victoria's stay-at-home measures took effect on May 27.

His family members later tested positive.

Extra COVID-19 testing clinics have been set up in the south coast region, and a new one is set to open in Gundagai.

Anyone who lives in Jervis Bay, Vincentia, Huskisson, Gundagai or Goulburn, or who has visited these areas since May 19, is asked to be especially vigilant for the onset of even the mildest of cold-like symptoms.

Two new overseas-acquired cases were reported this morning, while more than 18,000 tests were done in the latest reporting period.

NSW Health administered its highest-ever number of vaccines in one day, providing 14,595 vaccines in the 24 hours to 8:00pm last night.
