The bureau said, "The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 4.55pm, a very dangerous thunderstorm likely to produce heavy, locally intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding was detected near Queanbeyan, South Canberra and Hume. This thunderstorm is moving towards the north. It is forecast to affect Canberra Civic and Canberra Airport by 5.25 pm and Gungahlin by 5.55 pm."
