Man charged after allegedly stabbing woman with paint scraper in Sydney's east - 9News

A man has been charged after a woman was stabbed in the face with a paint scraper in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

The woman, 47, was allegedly stabbed in the head and upper body after a reported argument with a 21-year-old man at a unit block on Roberts Avenue in Randwick.

The man was chased and then tackled by passersby, who performed a citizen's arrest until police arrived.

CCTV captured the moment bystanders gave chace to the man, apprehending him moments later. (Supplied)

The woman has been taken to St Vincent's hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

She remains in a serious but stable condition.

The man was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital under police guard for assessment.

He will appear in court today.
