Three teenagers were travelling in a vehicle along Windsor Road on Monday night. Two of them would never make it home.
A 17-year-old boy was driving the Nissan 200SX sedan with red P-plates with his mates Matthew Simpson and Addison Bhimjiani, also both 17, in the passenger seats when it collided with a Ford Falcon, police were told.
The boys’ vehicle left the road at McGraths Hill, veering towards the footpath and smashing into a power pole before 10pm.
When police, NSW Ambulance and the State Emergency Service arrived they found the Nissan completely crumpled and Bhimjiani and Simpson suffering critical injuries.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the two boys in the Nissan died at the scene. The driver was treated for chest and internal injuries before he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
The driver of the Ford Falcon was unharmed.
Bhimjiani and Simpson are being mourned by schoolmates and family on social media.
“I loved you so much, I wish I could hug you one last time or see your smile I will never forget you,” one family member said of Bhimjiani.
The driver of the Falcon was the one to call triple zero and was taken by police for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Police said on Tuesday morning the driver of the Nissan will be questioned when he is released from hospital.
The area has been declared a crime scene and the crash investigation unit is determining what led to the crash.
Investigators have asked anyone with information about the incident or dashcam vision to contact the CIU via Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
In a separate incident, two truck drivers were trapped after they crashed on Richmond Road in Berkshire Park on around 5.30am on Tuesday.
The driver of the smaller truck was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition while the driver of the larger truck was taken to the same hospital in a stable condition.
Richmond Road was closed in both directions between Garfield Road and St Marys Road.
